Guadeloupe's first KRÉYÒL PRIDE becomes a reality

On July 25, 2026, hundreds of people filled the streets of Basse-Terre for the first KRÉYÒL PRIDE in Guadeloupe's history.

For many LGBT+ people there, it was the first chance to be visible in public without hiding. To meet others with the same experiences. To say plainly that everyone should be able to live freely, safely, and with dignity.

Getting there took months of work by local associations, artists, families, and volunteers, with support from the City of Basse-Terre and state services. It also took public pressure. More than 8,500 All Out members signed Nolwenn Termon's petition asking the authorities in Guadeloupe and in France to make sure the march could go ahead safely and be treated with respect. Together, we kept the spotlight on their duty to protect peaceful assembly and equal rights.

That duty was met. Hundreds of people marched, and no one there had to choose between being themselves and staying safe.

A first Pride is a beginning. But Guadeloupe has one now, and your support helped make it happen.
