Opening Venezuela's first LGBT+ community center
For many years now, Venezuela has been in a devastating and complex humanitarian crisis. And the pains felt by the local LGBT+ community are even more severe, because their rights and protections are barely recognized.
That’s why we launched a fundraiser in 2020 to help our partners at Movimiento SOMOS open the first LGBT+ center in the country.
Thanks to thousands of All Out members, we were able to raise enough money to make this dream a reality: on May 14th 2021, the center opened in the city of Mérida!
This center is led by Movimiento SOMOS and will become a hub where LGBT+ people can access legal services, mental health care, and, most importantly, a support network free of discrimination.
