Pride Flag Flies Again at Stonewall Monument
Global pressure from All Out members helped bring the Pride flag back to the Stonewall National Monument. In February 2026, the removal of the Pride flag from this historic site sparked outrage. The monument marks where the Stonewall Uprising began – a defining moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Taking down the flag raised serious concerns about the erasure of history and visibility, especially following the administration’s earlier move to remove the "T" and "Q" from the monument in early 2025.
In response, local activists led a rally and returned the flag to its rightful place. To show solidarity, All Out members launched a petition calling for its permanent restoration. Supporters from around the world took action, speaking out to protect this powerful symbol of pride and resistance.
That pressure led to a breakthrough. In April 2026, following a legal settlement, the Pride flag will be officially restored – ensuring it continues to fly where it belongs.
Victories like these ensure our history is never erased. They are made possible by people like you who showed up, signed the petition, and refused to be silenced.
