A safe place for LGBT+ Tanzanians

In 2018, the governor of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania formed a task force to hunt down and arrest people suspected of being LGBT+.

Many LGBT+ people fled the city and local LGBT+ rights group Eagle Wings was able to provide safety to some – but their capacity quickly reached its limit.

They wanted to open a permanent shelter away from the city, where they could provide safe housing and legal support for so many more in danger. But in the hostile Tanzanian environment, it was impossible for them get the funding from local sources.

That's where All Out members came in: All Out members donated enough to fully fund the shelter. Now LGBT+ people will have a safe place to call home. Together we've helped transform people’s lives. Here's a thank you from two of them:
