Emergency support for LGBT+ people in Afghanistan

Ever since the Taliban took over in Afghanistan, life has become like a prison for LGBT+ Afghans.

They live in constant fear and their life is in jeopardy: under the Taliban rule, homosexuality is punished by death and “honor killings” are often practiced.

When we learned that ILGA Asia launched an emergency program to help LGBT+ people trapped in Afghanistan, we clearly saw that this could be the only hope for many LGBT+ people in Afghanistan.

But this crisis is so monumental that it’s hard to find enough resources to respond.

That's why All Out ran three fundraisers with ILGA Asia (one in 2021, one in 2022 and one in 2023) to help raise the funds needed to bring urgent aid to LGBT+ people ILGA Asia have identified to be at extreme risk.

Thanks to All Out members’ generosity these vulnerable individuals have been to find safety and protection and start anew in a more inclusive and accepting environment.
