Equal Rights for Every Family in Mexico!

In April 2024, All Out launched the campaign "Equal Rights for Rainbow Families in Mexico. Same-sex couples face significant challenges when seeking adoption or registering their newborns in Mexico, often encountering barriers that heterosexual couples do not experience. Simple processes can become a nightmare!

With marriage equality already guaranteed in the country, All Out focused its efforts on ensuring that every LGBT+ person has the right to start a family. In May 2024, while Mexicans prepared to vote in national elections, All Out pressured the three presidential candidates to commit to rainbow families, especially regarding adoption, birth registrations, and the rights of trans youth.

Over 16,000 people from around the world signed our petition. We partnered with content creators and shared the stories of three amazing LGBT+ families. We pressured candidates through Instagram, hosted a picnic to celebrate Mother’s Day and rainbow families, and had a significant media presence with 17 feature interviews!

Even though we didn’t get an official commitment from the candidates, we received positive signals from their teams. On several occasions, they let us know they were aware of the campaign.

After laying the groundwork for this long-term strategy, All Out is now preparing its next steps and will continue to pressure the newly elected government to ensure equal rights for all families.
