We did it! Anita Among – the Ugandan Speaker of Parliament – did not travel to the UK to spread her message of hate at the Commonwealth's 75th anniversary celebrations.
Thanks to the collective action of over 5,000 All Out supporters around the world, alongside a coalition of nine other LGBT+ rights groups, our petition to prevent Among from visiting the UK was successful.
Speaker Among – a major supporter of Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Act – did not attend the celebrations, which means we scored a major victory for values of inclusivity and equality. This win is a testament to what we can accomplish together.
Thank you for standing with LGBT+ Ugandans through each and every signature. Together, we are making a difference.
