On February 24th, Russian forces began the invasion of Ukraine. Millions of people were forcibly displaced. They had to give up their homes, their livelihoods, and everything that was dear to them for an uncertain future as refugees.
Thousands of others decided to stay, resisting the violent Russian occupation of their country.
LGBT+ people were already vulnerable before the attack, and were now even more at risk of human rights abuses by Russian troops, or discrimination in the countries they fled to.
Thousands of All Out members around the world jumped into action, helping the people of Ukraine by making donations to All Out's emergency fundraiser.
Nearly $450,000 was raised and distributed to 10 organizations in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to provide evacuations, legal support, safety, shelter, and support to LGBT+ people and refugees from Ukraine.
