The first-ever Pride Bus!

In October 2022, All Out and partner groups drove the first Pride Bus (that we know of 😉) on the busy and beautiful streets of Mexico City

In mid-2022, All Out found out that the World Congress of Families (WCF), one of the world's most powerful anti-choice and anti-LGBT+ groups, was planning its annual meeting in Mexico City, in October 2022.

This group does not consider all families to be equally important (or even real). And they’ve been fighting hard against the rights of rainbow families and LGBT+ people around the world for many years.

So, to face all the hate of that congress, All Out teamed up with three Mexican groups – It Gets Better Mexico, Red de Madres Lesbianas en México and Infancias Trans – to create our own event, in the same weekend as the WCF, where our families, and ALL families, were welcome. We called it the Picnic For Families With Pride!

Look how beautiful it was:

This event was very important because we brought together all kinds of families in a place where everybody felt happy and safe.

And it was a lot of fun, too! We spent the day coloring and talking, there were stand-up and drag queen shows, and most importantly there was community, love, and care.

And you know what? This picnic was not all we did to celebrate ALL families! The WCF is known for having a hideous orange bus that goes around cities with transphobic messages.

So our group of organizations went out there to put the very first (that we know of) Pride Bus on the streets of Mexico City!

The Pride Bus drove around many busy areas of Mexico City, and was seen by locals and tourists. And besides being beautiful, the bus also distributed informational material about LGBT+ identities and diverse families and spread a lot of love around the city.

Because this is what it's all about: Pride, love, and fight. Pride for being who you are, love for those who are around you, and fight for a world where everyone feels that their family is respected and recognized.

All the families were so happy that we’re already getting questions about the next time the bus will be out in the streets!
