Italy’s Lombardy Region began discussion on a bill against homophobia and transphobia.
Thanks to more than 9,000 All Out members, on May 11 the Lombardy Region started for the first time the discussion on a bill against homophobia and transphobia.
At the beginning of 2021, Coming-Aut LGBTI+ Community Center started a bold campaign to ask Regione Lombardia to put on the table a bill against homophobia and transphobia as soon as possible.
As many as 25 LGBT+ and student groups in Lombardy joined the initiative and over 9,000 All Out members signed the petition.
And it worked!
On May 11, 2022, the Lombardy Regional Council began, for the first time, the discussion of a regional law against homophobia and transphobia.
The day before, the representatives of Coming-Aut LGBTI+ Community Center and other groups of the coalition had delivered the signatures to the President of the Lombardy Regional Council, Alessandro Fermi.
