While there are no explicitly anti-LGBT laws in the DRC, the society still views LGBT+ people as evil. Deviations from traditional gender roles and presentations are often met with hostility and violence.
In 2022, seven trans women experienced this as they were publicly beaten and undressed. They were faced with a choice of being burned at the stake or forced servitude, just because they are transgender.
Together with local partners, All Out raised money to get the women to safety and to support them for six months.
Thanks to the power of the All Out community, the lives of these women were changed. They received a new chance at life thanks to the generosity of All Out members.
